Is there a setting somewhere that will let me have the threads display the newest post first instead of last?

Well, all threads are sorted the way that the newest thread is on the top. However, posts within each thread are sorted by date (ascending) and the reason is we all love to comment :-) So if I sort it backwards, it will be really difficult to understand where is the beginning and where is the comment. Does it make sense?I guess the only way to not go through the long list of posts is to start a new thread (just like this one). Is there any better way exist?

Well, its just a personal preference sort of thing really.
The way the posts within a thread a sorted now is perfectly fine so long as the thread is only one page long. But when a thread gets long enough to have multiple pages its been my preference on other forums to have the posts listed in descending order because that way the newest posts are on the first page of the thread and it saves me the bother of clicking my mouse button again to go to the "next" or "last" page. (I know, life it tough having to press those mouse buttons, isn't it?)
The other alternative would be for the system to automatically take you to the specific post that you click on from the home page.
In any case, its certainly falls into the "minor issue" catagory. I'm not a web page programmer at all and so haven't the faintest idea of how you pull any of this off nor how easy or hard it would be nor whether what I'm suggesting is even possible with whatever software package you're using.
