Could a crash be in the near future. Looking upon my watch list i am just waiting for news of an event to bring one of the prices down to a more attractive purchase price. While studying and researching, I read that there is a market crash every 5-8 years. As of now its been 6 years since the 2008 recession, the markets are shooting up at all time highs with no boundaries. Can history repeat its self? We learn from history and human psychology, and one of the greatest messages i read was "Be fearful when everyone is Greedy, and Be greedy when everyone is fearful. know the Moment".

Could a crush be in the near future?

I prefer to check advanced-decline line to answer that question. I learned about it in the Stan Weinstein's book and really like his idea of confirming index highs with advanced-decline line highs to spot potential market crash. So check it out - menu Market / Market Gauges:

Interestingly enough, A-D line for NYSE is heading north, but NASDAQ line is not making new highs. It is improving though, but to me it still says that I'd better be careful:

"After a rally to a new high in the DJI, and the advance-decline line or another marked average refuses to confirm by also moving to a new high, that non-confirmation is a negative divergence. It is a reason to become defensive."
